untitled-15

Free demonstrations, brunch, presentations from national and local dignitaries, and the unveiling of our fabulous Dragon Bike Rack marked Taoist Tai Chi® International Awareness Day on Thursday, August 13. The unveiling was  held at the Taoist Tai Chi International Center Florida, 453 Edgewater Dr., Dunedin, FL. The functional art was dedicated to Ron Boucher, a very involved long time Taoist Tai Chi® participant, and was created by local artist, Bill Coleman.

Bill Coleman – welder, sculpture, and artisan has been designing and creating metal art for over 30 years. He is the founder of the Institute for Creative Arts in Dunedin, Florida and owner of Arc Angels, Inc. producing the finest quality cast and wrought ornamental metalwork. Nationally known, Coleman has fabricated art for the Trump Towers in NYC, the Baltimore Aquarium, and MGM Studios in Orlando to name a few. “The Taoist Tai Chi Society of the United States of America is honored to have partnered with such a talented artist and we are thrilled to unveil Bill’s art at our International Conference Center as part of our International Awareness Day celebration,” says Pegoty Packman, the society’s national president.

The Dunedin Branch participants helped create a beautiful buffet of frittatas, bacon, fruit, yogurt, granola,  fresh biscuits, bread and seasonal berries to follow the presentation.  During brunch, participants demonstrated the 108 moves to the delight of our guests.

Following brunch, all were asked to participant in a demo class. Vice Mayor Heather Gracey, other officials, and neighbors participated.
